Here's What Comes In The LEGO DC Super-Villains Season Pass
The adventure will continue following the launch of LEGO DC Super-Villains this fall, with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment revealing full details for the game's Season Pass. From movie and show tie-ins to extra stories to play through and characters to unlock, there looks to be plenty here to keep the DC Universe's most notorious criminals busy for hours on end.
Set to launch on Oct. 16 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, LEGO DC Super-Villains is going to be packed with the series' trademark features. We're talking a big, universe-spanning story with cameos aplenty, over-the-top action, tongue-in-cheek humor and an insane number of playable characters to fight alongside your own customizable bad guy. But the party is only just beginning when the credits roll, with WBIE revealing the game's season pass will include six level packs and four character packs to be made available in the coming months.
Rather than keep players guessing, the publisher has decided to pull back the curtain completely, explaining what, exactly, you can expect in that Season Pass. The pass will include two level packs inspired by the upcoming Aquaman movie, two more inspired by Shazam, a level pack based on the highly popular animated series, Young Justice, and another based on the iconic Batman: The Animated Series. Those packs will come with their own levels and missions to explore, as well as additional characters pulled straight from the screen.
Additionally, the Season Pass will boast a bunch of extra character packs, as if the dozens upon dozens of characters in the base game aren't already enough. These include the DC Films Character Pack, as well as the TV Series Character Pack, which will include characters from shows like Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Arrow and Black Lightning.
If you happen to pick up the Deluxe Edition of the game, it comes with immediate access to that TV Series Character Pack, as well as an exclusive LEGO minifigure of Lex Luthor Superman. The Digital Deluxe edition, on the other hand, will include access to the Justice League Dark character pack. The beefed up version of the game is available for $74.99 and include the season pass of additional content. If you'd rather buy the pass separately, it'll set you back $14.99, which is the same price many other games charge for a single chunk of DLC. Speaking of which, you always have the option to wait until the DLC launches and purchase the ones you want individually for a few bucks a pop.
I had an opportunity to go hands-on with LEGO DC Super-Villains at E3 2018 and was pretty impressed with the ability to create your own character, as well as the insane list of playable characters included right out of the gate. I saw half a dozen DC characters introduced in the first 15 minutes of play, so you can expect to be taken on a whirlwind tour of all things DC when the game finally launches this fall.
