The Battlefield V Open Beta Is Now Underway
As we edge ever-so-close to the huge fall roll out of nearly every big 2018 AAA game, the betas for some of these games are getting underway so that players can be enticed into pre-ordering the games ahead of their official launch. One of the big AAA titles due out this November is DICE and EA's Battlefield V, but before the game drops there is an open beta that is underway right at this very moment. Gamers who are interested in the beta can get a rundown of all the features, start and end times, as well as what they can expect feature-wise from the beta for one of the biggest games set to release this fall.
Over on the official EA website, there's a whole list of informational breakdowns, lists and details on the beta for the World War II shooter.
The most important thing is the timing, in which case the open beta for everybody will run from 1:00 am PST September 6th to 7:00 am PST September 11th. Pre-loading was underway as early as 1:00 am PST on September 3rd, which would enable gamers to start downloading the executables and game data files ahead of the beta going live. For those of you who pre-ordered the game and gained access to the early access for the open beta, you would be able to start playing as early as September 4th.
The Battlefield V beta will be in English only for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It will come with two different maps, including the Arctic Fjord map set in Norway, and the Rotterdam map.
You'll be able to play Conquest on both Norway and Rotterdam, which his a 64-player game mode where each team will attempt to take control of key areas of the map by holding certain flag locations.
The Norway map will allow players to experience the Grand Operations mode in addition to Conquest. The Grand Operations mode takes place across several in-game "Days" where players will have to complete specific objectives on each day across different parts of the map. On Day 1 players will take on the role of paratroopers in the Airborne Mode, where they'll need to drop down into the battlefield and take control of specifically deployed explosives. On Day 2 players will take on the role of either the attackers or defenders, attempting to control certain key sectors of the map to prevent the attackers from breaking through, or attempting to break through the defenses.
The Tides of War mode will also be present in the beta, which will see players taking on specific events throughout World War II to earn cosmetic items, and unlock new content.
