Last night on GameTrailers TV, 5TH Cell formally revealed their first Xbox Live Arcade game. It's not what you'd expect from a studio that made a game like Scribblenauts.
Hybrid is a futuristic shooter. Players choose one of two warring factions: the Paladins and Variants. The trailer shows a Variant flipping over a pile of rubble. Hopefully Paladins have a cool ability of their own to keep things balanced. Maybe they can bubblehearth?
It seems a lot more straightforward than 5TH Cell's previous work. Truth be told, though, we still don't know much about it (other than the fact it uses the Source engine). There could be some strange gameplay twist that remains to be seen.
Hybrid is slated for a 2011 release through XBLA.
