Realtime Worlds' attempts to keep APB afloat have fallen short. The studio announced that they'll be shutting down the MMO shooter.
"APB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end," wrote APB community manager Ben Bateman in a farewell note. "Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone's best efforts to keep the service running, APB is coming to a close."
Realtime Worlds went into administration soon after APB's launch. The company restructured and planned to continue supporting the game with updates. Their hope was that they'd find a buyer for the game, but it looks like no one was interested.
Bateman tweeted that servers will be turned off tonight. Until then, he says, the game will be free.
