Well, you can't say they didn't warn you. As they said back in September, Activision is deleting user-made Guitar Hero: World Tour songs uploaded to the GH Tunes service that violate copyrights.
GH Tunes launched along with the game in late October and, according to MTV Multiplayer, the most popular songs were covers of the Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda theme songs. Now those songs are gone, like tears in the rain.
There's still a lot of video game theme song covers floating around on GH Tunes but they're living on borrowed time, it seems. It's too bad because people obviously enjoy these songs but A) Activision did let you know they were doing this in advance, and B) it'll give "original" music a chance to shine. Wouldn't want to be an Activision forum community manager this weekend, though.
