Aliens: Colonial Marines To Offer Season Pass, First DLC Pack Detailed
Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC next Tuesday, Feb. 12, but that initial launch date won’t be the last gamers will hear of the upcoming first-person shooter. As it turns out, there are four batches of DLC in the works and, as is becoming more common these days, you can save on the lot of it by purchasing a season pass.
Sega, Gearbox Software and Twentieth Century Fox today announced a season pass promotional program for the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines. Once the game launches next week, players will be able to plop down an additional $29.99 (2400 MSP) in order to reserve their upcoming DLC content at a nearly 40 percent savings. While the Wii U version of the game is expected sometime later this year, we’re thinking it’s safe to assume that the same promotion will be available for that version of Colonial Marines, too.
The game proper will feature four-player drop-in drop-out cooperative play, as well as a multiplayer component featuring four different game modes (Escape, Survivor, Team Deathmatch and Extermination). The campaign sees players taking on the role of, appropriately enough, Colonial Marines as they investigate locations taken directly from the Aliens film franchise, as well as a few new locales, following the events of their respective movies. In multiplayer, one group will play as the Marines while the other will take on the persona of the brutal xenomorphs. Saweeeet.
DLC will be provided in four packs, the first of which we now have some details on. Come March, players will be able to download the Bug Hunt pack, which will give players an all new multiplayer mode to tackle featuring waves of increasingly difficult enemies to overcome.
