Rovio has figured out a way to tie their mega-hit Angry Birds to the upcoming NFL season. They're going to create a Philadelphia Eagles-themed version of their physics-based puzzle game.
The Philadelphia Eagles edition of Angry Birds will launch on September 4th. The game's exclusively available through the team's Facebook page. It will have 16 free levels in total, which will unlock on a weekly basis throughout the regular season.
The game has the same basic premise as Angry Birds. Players fling birds with a slingshot and try to take out pigs arranged in and around various structures. The big differences are that the background is a football stadium and players can fling an enormous Philadelphia Eagle to wipe out huge swathes of the level at once.
A "real-life version" of Angry Birds will also appear at the Eagles' Back to Football event. The event, free to the public, will kick off on September 4th at 11:30am in Love Park, Philadelphia.
