Electronic Arts confirmed the release date for Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel today. The Visceral Games-developed reboot of the series will be arriving throughout the world in March.
The Devil's Cartel is said to take the series in a darker, grittier direction. A new pair of mercenaries will face off against a drug cartel. The game's powered by Frostbite 2, the same engine used in Battlefield 3.
Pre-ordering the game will give you an automatic upgrade to the Overkill Edition. This bundle includes early access to three "Overkiller" contracts. Overkill appears to be a game mode in which players have to continuously kill enemies and cause environmental damage throughout the entire map.
Bonus equipment is included in the bundle as well. Players will get a Day of the Dead-themed assault rifle, outfit and mask. They will also unlock a "Double D" automatic shotgun and the previously announced TAH-9 handgun. The Overkill mask and outfit will give you additional fashion options.
Devil's Cartel will make its North American debut on March 26th. The European launch will follow on March 29th. Visceral is developing the game for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
