EA announced today that hip-hip stars Big Boi and B.o.B. will be appearing in the co-op shooter Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel. The two are also collaborating pm the game's official theme song, "Double or Nothing."
Big Boi and B.o.B. play the roles of Charles “Chuy” Rendall and Anthony “Baker” Barnes. They're not the main characters in the game. Instead, they serve as backup to the main characters "Alpha" and "Bravo." They're sort of the Cole Train and Baird of this little adventure.
Players will get a chance to play as Big Boi and B.o.B. to a limited extent, though. Gamers who pre-order from participating retailers will unlock a Hit-Makers Kit with a mission starring the duo. They'll also get access to weapon skins and mask designed by the performers.
Devil's Cartel is hyped as a gritty reimagining of the series. The new mercenaries introduced in this game go toe-to-toe with a Mexican drug cartel. Visceral Games, developer of the Dead Space series, has taken over development duties from Army creators EA Montreal. They're using Battlefield 3's Frostbite 2 engine to build the game.
The game will arrive on March 26th in North America and on the 29th in Europe. "Double or Nothing" will debut sometime earlier in the year.
