Ubisoft will be offering a Season Pass for Assassin's Creed 3, allowing players to buy all of the game's DLC for one discounted price. The Pass' existence was outed by the latest PlayStation Store update by Sony.
Sony is allowing players to pre-order a Gold Edition of AC3. The $89.99 Gold Edition includes the Season Pass. The Pass is the only stated feature of the Gold Edition, suggesting that it's worth $30 on its own.
"[The Season Pass] gets you future DLC at a slight discount for purchasing it up front," a spokesperson confirmed in the comments section of the PlayStation.Blog post. She also mentions that the Pass will be available separately.
The AC3 Season Pass isn't a complete surprise. A leaked Ubisoft letter to GameStop employees mentioned it. The same letter also made reference to "post-launch episodic content."
It seemed possible at one point that the Season Pass would be called Assassin's Creed Initiates. Simply calling it "Season Pass" seems more effective, though. At this point, many gamers are familiar with the phrase and what that entails.
Past AC games have offered players a combination of both single-player and multiplayer DLC. It seems reasonable to expect the same for AC3.
