Ubisoft announced today that pre-orders for Assassin's Creed 3 are looking strong. In three weeks, the game has already passed the total pre-orders for 2010 title Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
AC3's three-week pre-orders are higher than any other AC game in that time frame. During these weeks, consumers reserved ten times the amount of copies they reserved for Assassin's Creed Revelations, the most pre-ordered game in Ubisoft's history. Ubisoft believes that AC3's pre-order total will pass Revelations' total in June.
"On October 30th players will experience the biggest game launch in Ubisoft’s history with the highly anticipated release of Assassins Creed III,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft. “With a development cycle of three years, Assassins Creed III is the true next-generation experience of the Assassins Creed brand. The production value of the game, combined with the biggest marketing commitment we’ve ever made, will make Assassins Creed III the highest-selling Assassin’s Creed game ever. Additionally, the new setting and hero makes this the perfect time to jump into the series for anyone that has not previously played an Assassin’s Creed game.”
In AC3, players take on the role of Connor, a man of Native American and English blood living in Colonial America. Connor will join the ancient order of Assassins and wage a secret war against the Templars. He'll also participate in the American Revolution.
AC3 will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U. Ubisoft Montreal is heading up the game's development.
