WB has sent out the first trailer from Batman: Arkham Origins. The short CGI teaser shows Batman going face to face with the mercenary Deathstroke.
The scene looks like a reenactment of the game's first art. Batman and Deathstroke are dueling on a snowy Gotham night. Deathstroke wields a staff while Batman is simply using his bat-fists.
Deathstroke is one of several villains included in the game. Other rapscallions featured include Black Mask and the Penguin. While he's probably not the main villain of the game, Deathstroke might be the coolest. The fact that he's featured in the first trailer for the game suggests that WB is aware of that.
You sort of have to wonder whether this game will be a springboard for a Deathstroke spin-off. Warner Bros. has been very ambitious with their DC Comics games, with projects ranging from MOBA to puzzle games. Deathstroke isn't a top-tier character but it's not hard to imagine him as the protagonist in an action-adventure game.
This trailer seems like a snippet of a larger video. I suppose we'll get the full version in a matter of days.
