DICE has released the first details on Battlefield 3's next expansion, Close Quarters. This expansion will add four maps that focus on infantry.
"The clue for the theme in Close Quarters is in the title: The battlefield moves indoors, and we’re bringing HD Destruction!" said DICE. "While the squad functionality and gunplay will feel instantly recognizable for any Battlefield player, moving the battle to tight maps means it’s instant action and even more frantic than normal."
The new trailer provides a look at "Ziba Tower." It looks like a luxury apartment building or hotel. Probably a good place to grind out your shotgun attachments.
In addition to the new maps, Close Quarters will add 10 new weapons, unlocked through new Assignments. Five unique dog tags are also included. DICE says the DLC feature "new audio" and "new ways to play" but doesn't go into detail.
Close Quarters will be released on all platforms in June. It's one of three expansion packs coming to the game.
