BioShock 2 Official Release Date Revealed

2K Games has finally set the release date for BioShock 2 in stone…or as close to it as possible. It was announced that the game s scheduled to land on retailer shelves come February, 2010. Not only was the release date revealed but some detailed information on the multiplayer was set loose, too.
According to the press release…
Multiplayer in BioShock 2 will provide a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the BioShock toolset to survive, as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.
The game is [obviously] still in heavy development by several studios, with the multiplayer portion of the game specifically being designed by Digital Extremes, the same folk who worked on Unreal Championship. So at least we know the multiplayer is in good hands.
You can look for BioShock 2 to hit store shelves on February 9th, 2010 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. For more info on the game feel free to visit the Official Website. For more gaming news, updates, insight and media, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
