At BlueFes 2012, Arc System Works unveiled a new fighting game called BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma. Phantasma, the fifth game in the 2D fighter series, will make its arcade debut in winter 2012.
Phantasma brings back many characters from previous games. However, their costumes have been updated. For example, Noel Vermillion no longer has a silly cap. Her top's even skimpier than usual, too, if you can believe it. The cosmetic changes to the fighters are accompanied by modified or new moves.
The game's cast will also have three new additions. Amane is a proper lady who uses her flowing pink clothing as a weapon. Bullet is more of a tom-boy and uses golden gauntlets to land punishing blows on her opponents. Azrael is a muscle-bound brawler with flowing blue hair and a terrible goatee.
Arc System Works made no mention of a home release for Phantasm yet. Every game in the BlazBlue series has been eventually released for a handheld or console, though. The general trend is for a new BlazBlue installment to arrive in the fall and then make its way to other gaming devices the following spring or summer.
