Today Blizzard Entertainment formally announced BlizzCon 2013. This year's convention, like the others that came before it, will be a two-day celebration of Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo.
This year's BlizzCon will take place on November 8th and 9th. It will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, like the BlizzCon's before it.
The last BlizzCon was held in 2011. Blizzard decided not to hold one last year. The company wanted to focus their time and energy on finishing Diablo 3, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria and StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm.
BlizzCon features a wide range of activities for gamers. They can compete in casual or competitive gaming tournaments, or watch the pros slug it out in the global Blizzard eSports finals. Gamers can also showcase their other talents in community contests. Or they can just buy as much merchandise as they can carry.
The most exciting part of BlizzCon is that it's a showcase for upcoming games. Players can attend discussion panels with Blizzard employees to find out insight about these titles. They can also try the games out for themselves at demo kiosks.
Today's press release doesn't mention what these future games will be. Maybe their upcoming DOTA project? It's also possible that they'll unveil something completely new, such as the mysterious Project Titan.
The ticket prices and sale dates for BlizzCon 2013 weren't disclosed.
