COD: Black Ops 2 Most Played Game Of March, SimCity Is Least Played
After gauging more than 17 million players and their gaming habits throughout the month of March, Raptr released some interesting data on who was playing what, and SimCity managed to be the least played game of the month with only 1.01% market share.
According to a Raptr representative...
On the opposite end of the spectrum Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was at the top of the charts, with 7.61% of the market share value. The top three rounded out with League of Legends at 5.97% and World of Warcraft at 3.40% of player market share.
Games like Halo 4, Tomb Raider and Battlefield 3 managed mid-position places on the chart, which is impressive for Battlefield 3 since it's a few years old, but the excitement for the game was revived with the new EndGame DLC. Tomb Raider is probably most surprising given that the multiplayer was labeled as lackluster.
Unfortunately, none of these games represent what was being played on the Sony PlayStation 3, as Sony restricts this kind of player data from being shared. So on the console front, there may be a bit of a slant for multiplayer titles, especially regarding games like Battlefield 3, Borderlands 2 and Tomb Raider, and their market share could be off (in totality) by several points in percentage.
