The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 won't just be visually inferior to their next-gen counterparts. Activision announced today that the PS3 and 360 editions of the shooter also won't have the single-player/co-op campaign.
In an announcement on

It's really surprising that they'll just be chopping the campaign altogether. I expected a pared-down campaign for last-gen consoles - perhaps with worse graphics and no co-op - but I didn't think Activision would go so far as to remove the feature altogether. I guess the compromises necessary to make the campaign work would've been too damaging and/or time-consuming.
If you had to choose a Call of Duty with just a campaign or multiplayer, though, I imagine most players would go for the latter. COD is a multiplayer series first and foremost. Players typically can knock out the campaign in an afternoon, and many probably won't even touch it unless PSN and Xbox Live get knocked offline.
A few smaller features will also be missing on PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. Weapon Paint Shop, which lets players make very detailed customizations to their firearms, won't be included. The game's eSports features, such as banning certain weapons or characters prior to the match, likewise are limited to the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The (thin) silver lining here is that Black Ops 3 will cost less on Xbox 360 and PS3. The game is priced at $49.99 on both consoles and also comes with a free download for the first Black Ops.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set in 2065, a year in which cybernetics are now a reality. The campaign follows a group of covert operatives outfitted with a variety of cybernetic enhancements to give them superhuman capabilities. In multiplayer, you can become one of nine cyber-soldiers with unique weapons and powers. Black Ops 3 will launch worldwide on November 6th.
