Let the hype season begin. Activision has released four teaser videos for the upcoming military shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
The four trailers - entitled "America," "Germany," "France," and "England" - are each similar to the first teaser released for Modern Warfare 2 way back when. Soldiers talk over radio while a green soundwave rises and dips on screen. We then see a brief rendering of the city the trailer takes place in - New York, Berlin, Paris, London - before the game's logo logo appears.
These trailers suggest that the conflict between Russia and the United States that began in MW2 has expanded to other nations. A popular rumor stated that MW3 is going to be a prequel to the previous games but it seems they ditched that idea in favor of something grander. Things don't get much bigger than World War 3.
Last week there was some gossip that MW3 is going to be released on November 8th. The trailers don't confirm that. They also don't mention platforms for the game. I suspect an official announcement will arrive early next week, though.
