Call of Juarez: Gunslinger stars a number of colorful Wild West legends like Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett. The latest trailer, however, focuses on a fictional character: Silas Greaves, the man who has to hunt them all down.
Greaves is a bounty hunter charged with bringing these outlaws to justice. In the process, he'll gun down hundreds of their henchmen. The comic book style of the trailer is appropriate to the game. Gunslinger is meant as a tribute to Wild West legends, rather than a sober, historical look at the period. It's as ridiculous as anything you'd read in a dime novel.
Hunting down the West's most wanted criminals sounds like a death sentence but Greaves is no ordinary man. Like previous Call of Juarez heroes, Greaves can slow down the action in order to pick off multiple enemies at once. However, his "bullet time" ability isn't just offensive. He can also slow time to dodge an other-wise fatal bullet from an enemy. When they first announced the game, Ubisoft mentioned a skill progression system so you can refine Greaves' abilities to your liking as well.
Gunslinger will debut on May 22nd. The game will be available in digital form on PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and PC. If you pre-order the PC version through Ubisoft's store, you can get a free copy of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood along with six weapon skins.
