Crysis creators Crytek plan to announce a new game for PC and consoles in April. General manager Nick Button-Brown hyped up the announcement in a recent interview by saying this game is "spectacular."
"A big part of our business is big budget console and PC games. We are doing all these other things, but they're on top of that and we're doing them because they're interesting," Button-Brown told CVG. "We still want to deliver the highest quality that we can, wherever we go," he added. "You know about Homefront, you know about Ryse. We are working on another project... [laughs] all three of which are looking really good."
"The other project looks absolutely fantastic - I mean, genuinely the best of that kind of project we've ever done. It looks spectacular, the team are doing really, really well and it's just really nice to see the team really enthusiastic about what they're doing. They're really happy."
The lazy guess is, of course, Crysis 3. It's been about a year since the release of Crysis 2, which managed to rack up strong sales and strong reviews. Crysis is the studio's flagship series, too.
A more "out there" guess is that they're making TimeSplitters 4. Crytek purchased Free Radical Design and renamed it Crytek UK in 2009. The studio helped with Crysis 2's multiplayer but it's not clear what they've been doing since then. Last we heard they had shelved TS4, though.
