Cyberpunk Adventure Game, Gemini Rue, Coming To PC In February
Remember those awesome cyberpunk games from the 90s? Stuff like Syndicate, Out of this World, Generations Lost, Beneath a Steel Sky, Deus Ex and Future Wars really set the standard for futuristic cyberpunk themes that helped define a genre. By the late 90s we had only a few other games to help fuel the fire, such as Omicron and Messiah but by that time cyberpunk was waning. Indie developer Joshua Neurnberger is reigniting cyberpunk for early 2011 with his point-and-click futuristic noir title, Gemini Rue, which is due out in February.
The game is nestled tightly in the classic, noir art-style from the early 90s that permeated many mature-themed PC adventure titles, and it works perfectly. The game captures many elements and themes featured in movies like Nemesis and Blade Runner, while revolving around a storyline of intrigue, deception and freedom.
You can check out the debut trailer below, which is oddly engrossing despite the old-school graphics. For those of you who can’t wait for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, maybe you can get your fill of cyberpunk adventure fantasy with Gemini Rue when it release next month.
