Okay, remember how last week Dead Space's release had been officially moved up from October 31st to October 21st? Well, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions' release have just been bumped up another week according to an announcement by EA today. What the hell?
While the console versions will now be available in stores on October 14th, it seems the PC version won't be available until October 20th (though, again, that's earlier than the initially planned Halloween release). Also, I don't think they've changed the release date on the upcoming animated prequel film, Dead Space: Downfall. The film was supposed to come out on October 28th to coincide with the game's release but who knows if they'll still coordinate the releases now that the game is suddenly coming to stores with supersonic speed.
Is it really a good thing to keep changing the release date, even if it's sooner? I mean I like it as a gamer but it must be driving their marketing department a bit nuts. October, meanwhile, is so stacked with new releases that a game's going to have fierce competition no matter when it hits stores. Dead Space, if you're not already aware, is a sci-fi survival horror based off of EA's new IP. You can check out a more extensive summary of the game here.
