December PlayStation Plus Packs In Injustice, Secret Ponchos, Deadly Premonition
December is just around the corner and as the holiday season continues, Sony is here to fill everyone in on what they can expect out of PlayStation Plus for the month. It’s a pretty hefty lineup, including Deadly Premonition, Injustice and even the brand new PS4 multiplayer game, Secret Ponchos.
As always, Sony will be continuing its tradition of dishing out two games per console through PlayStation Plus this December, giving subscribers a little something extra for the 50 dollars they fork over annually for online services. It’s a pretty sweet deal, when you get down to it, with December’s offerings along worth the price of admission.
The PS4 has a strong lineup this month, beginning with the first AAA title the service has seen on Sony’s new console. Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition launched with the PS4, giving gamers one of their only fighter options for the new machine. Coming from the same folks who brought you Mortal Kombat, Injustice is a great brawler with a single player story mode that’s actually worth checking out. You’ll get everything the original game offered, as well as six new playable characters, a whole bunch of new skins, new S.T.A.R. Labs missions (mini-challenges) and more.
If, however, you’d rather dip into a brand new Western-themed twin-stick shooter, then you’ll want to check out Secret Ponchos. This is one of those games that’s launching as a Plus title, with up to 4v4 showdowns that reward careful timing and precision aiming.
Over to the PlayStation 3 front and we have one of the most unexpected offerings yet, Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut. This is, no joke, one of my favorite games of all time, bringing everything I love about Twin Peaks into video game form. The game’s rough edges are actually charming, and the story is just bonkers enough to work.
If you would rather enjoy some more traditional fare, however, then you’ll probably want to check out Hitman HD Trilogy. Containing three Hitman games in one package, this is a huge bit of bang for your buck and, technically, ups the PS3 Plus library to four games for the month.
Finally, over to the PlayStation Vita and you’ll be able to download Final Horizon through Plus next month. Ideal for gamers on the go, Final Horizon squeezes everything you love about tower defense into a more condensed series of missions set across the cosmos.

So, that’ll about do it. Don’t forget that you still have a few days to grab November’s Plus offerings, in case you haven’t downloaded those yet. Otherwise, look for December’s games to go live next Tuesday, Dec. 2.
