At Bungie's GDC 2013 presentation, the developer showed off a behind-the-scenes video for their online shooter Destiny. The video shows off sketches, paintings, and 3D models of some of the game's characters.
Destiny takes place seven hundred years in the future. After a calamity known only as the Collapse, mankind was all but wiped out. The few survivors now live in a city watched over by a white sphere known as the Traveler. Players take on the role of the Guardians of this city, who must fend off hostile aliens looking to conquer humanity.
As the video demonstrates, there are several different alien races that players will face off against. The Vex are robots capable of time travel. The Cabal are a bulky species with heavy armor and weapons.
The player characters are similarly diverse. Players can choose from several different classes. Titans are well-armored gunslingers, while Hunters are sneaky sniper types. Warlocks, meanwhile, are assisted in battle by robotic companions.
Destiny is in development for current-gen and next-gen consoles. It may also come to the PC.
