It may come as a shock to you but critically acclaimed games that sell well tend to get sequels. Codemasters Studios vice president Gavin Cheshire has confirmed that the company is now developing DiRT 3.
"Really, it’s all about letting the teams just innovate," Cheshire told Edge. "There’s some great stuff coming from Birmingham that’s going into DiRT 3, and obviously you’ve seen Bodycount."
BodyCount, a first-person shooter for the Xbox 360 and PS3, is due out in 2011. There was a two-year gap between DiRT and DiRT 2 so perhaps the third game will be part of Codemaster's 2011 lineup as well.
