Diggs Nightcrawler Squirms Onto Wonderbook This Holiday Season
If you’re the sort who likes to plot out their Christmas shopping plans super early and you’ve got a young’un or two on your list, then you might want to take a look at the latest title headed to the PlayStation 3’s Wonderbook this holiday season. It’s called Diggs Nighcrawler, and it looks to combine a noire mystery game with some pretty slick altered reality features.
Announced earlier today through the PlayStation Bog, Diggs Nighcrawler comes from the team at Moonbot Studios. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe also released the game’s first developer diary, which you can view above. Basically, Diggs utilizes the Wonderbook peripheral in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye in order to let players interact with the story as it unfolds. The storyline combines such tales as Little Bo Peep, the Itsy Bitsy Spider and the Three Little Pigs in a humorous noir setting with mystery around every corner. And all of these stories are then wrapped in an even bigger mystery concerning the fall of one Humpty Dumpty.
“Diggs is a detective bookworm who knows he’s inside a book, whose world is made from books, and who travels throughout the course of the game to different sections of the library, meeting unique characters along the way,” said SCEE Senior Producer Nathan Baseley. “Of course, being Wonderbook, this is no ordinary hardcover. It is your controller as you tilt, rotate and turn the pages to help Diggs get to the bottom of Humpty’s downfall.”
