2K Games announced details on Duke Nukem Forever's first downloadable content today. The Hail to the Icons Parody Pack will arrive on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this fall.
The pack adds three game modes and four multiplayer maps. New weapons are included in the package as well. The DLC is free to First Access Members who registered their membership before DNF launched.
The new "Freeze Tag" mode challenges players to freeze and shatter their opponents. Big points will be doled out if you can rack up several shatters in a row. In "Hot Potato", players try to hold onto the babe longer than their opponent. The third mode, "Hail to the King," is a classic free-for-all battle.
2K also provided some brief information on the new maps. Here's what they said about each:
- Call of Duke – Duke engages in modern combat in a war-torn city. Foes don’t stand a chance against the Duke when he spams the map with the N00b T00b.
- Sandbox – Players take the role of mini-Duke in a giant sandbox with two bases at either end made out of children’s toys. This map features Sticky Bombs.
- Inferno – Time machine engage! Duke does combat in a hellish landscape of lava and teleporters. Who turned on the 16-bit graphics, and more importantly, where did this DFG come from?
- 2Forts1Bridge – Hats? Duke doesn’t need no stinking hats. Give him a minigun and he’ll beat off all comers.
Players in the San Francisco area will get a chance to try this new content out early. On August 4th, 2K Games will be hosting Dukematches at their Novato headquarters. If you're over 17 and available at 4 PM or 6PM on that day, just email 2KElizabeth@2KGames.com with the following details:

If you're chosen for the sneak peek event, you'll get an e-mail early next week.
