Duke Nukem: Reloaded Screenshots Look Amazing
A lot of gamers were disappointed with Duke Nukem Forever. It was bound to happen given the game was stuck in development limbo for almost a lifetime and just kind of tumbled out onto the market like a drunk republican giving a public speech after he just got a lap-dance from a tranny with coke on his face, while trying to discuss principles and morals: there’s just too many contradictory elements pulling in the wrong directions and that’s what happened with Duke Nukem Forever. The game didn’t know if it was a new-school shooter with old-school concepts or an old-school shooter with new-school mechanics.
Nevertheless, indie studio Interceptor Entertainment has undertaken a project to revive Duke Nukem 3D with their project Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded, or usually referred to simply as Duke Nukem: Reloaded. The game isn’t about trying to mix and match genres, mechanics and everything else in between into the game, instead it’s just a straight-up remake of the cult-classic PC shooter that helped define the FPS genre during the mid-to-late 90s.
Interceptor recently announced that Duke Nukem: Reloaded has been put on hold due to creative issues they encountered with Gearbox and it was Interceptor’s idea to put the project on hold. Nevertheless, Gearbox holds the rights to Duke Nukem and Interceptor has to work around those rights.
Fortunately, a few screenshots from the game were leaked through the Internet. Hands down, the game looks phenomenal and it seems to embody a darker, newer generation of the same concepts that 3D Realms developed for Duke Nukem back in 1996.
