A year after announcing the controller-free motion technology Project Natal, Microsoft has decided to rename it. It's now been given a slightly more bizarre name: Kinect.
I'm not entirely sure why they decided to rename it. Hell, everyone finally got used to the weirdness of the name "Natal." It kind of grew on me. Now it seems like they'll have to spend the next few months explaining that Natal and Kinect are the same thing.
Anyway, what's done is done. Microsoft announced at their E3 presser that Kinect (bleh) will launch worldwide this holiday, "starting in North America on November 4th." Therefore, if you live anywhere else in the world, you'll have to wait until November 4th or later.
