Mass Effect 3, predictably, made an appearance at EA's press conference today at E3. BioWare provided both a new trailer and a release date for the game.
ME3 will be released worldwide on March 6th, 2012. The game was initially expected by the end of 2011. However, it was delayed because BioWare is "adjusting some of the gameplay mechanics" to make it more of an RPG/shooter.
The trailer below shows a newscast on Earth. The entire planet is under assault from the mysterious Reapers, who are hell-bent on wiping out all life in the galaxy. ME3 is the final confrontation between Shepard and the Reapers and should wrap up this story arc.
ME3 also made an appearance at Microsoft's press conference earlier today. The Xbox 360 version will support Kinect voice recognition.
