E3 2012: Ellen Page Stars In PS3 Exclusive, Beyond
David Cage and crew from Quantic Dream are at it again, desperately trying to bridge the gap between movies and video games with their upcoming title, Beyond: Two Souls, which is due out in 2013 exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The game stars Hollywood actress Ellen Paige in title role of complex and tortured character named Jodie Holmes.
There's more to it than just living through the dramatic situations of a young woman going through some devastating circumstances, there's also some telekinetic elements as well, which look pretty cool. Check it out in this first-glimpse in-engine trailer below.
I have no idea how the gameplay works. I imagine Quantic Dream will use something similar to Heavy Rain or Indigo Prophecy. They've never been the sort of group that relies heavily on gameplay mechanics so much as they rely on story mechanics driven by moderate player choice.
I can't wait to see what else they have in store for Beyond. It's an interesting looking game with a fascinating premise and the idea that you're playing as academy award nominated actress, Ellen Page, is such a...um...highlight for the gaming community.
You can learn more about the game in the coming months when Quantic Dream unveils more details and info. But in the meantime, you can keep replaying the video above to get a hint at what you can expect from the same people who made waves with Heavy Rain.
