E3 2013: Castle Of Illusion First Gameplay Screenshots Released
Sega is revitalizing Castle of Illusion for today's generation of gamer and they showcased the very first in-game screenshots for the title during their showing at this year's E3. This means you can finally see what the 3D, HD remake of this classic Genesis title will look like on PCs, Xbox 360 and PS3.
Without actual gameplay footage to accompany the shots, it's hard to get a good grasp on the movement and fluidity of the platforming. However, the visual presentation and stage designs – based solely on the images Sega has released – looks pretty good so far. I don't actually remember the levels that are in the screenshots below, but then again the original game was 2D sprites and didn't look anything like the way this new game looks.
Players will assume the role of Disney's Mickey Mouse and travel through the forest towards the castle of illusion to face off against the evil witch. Castle of Illusion was part of a series of games made by Disney, including Land of Illusion and World of Illusion. Only the first and last game were good, and hopefully if Castle of Illusion proves to be a big seller maybe Sega will release an 3D, HD rendition of World of Illusion complete with co-op? One can hope.
You can check out the brand new screenshots for the game below or you can learn more about the game by paying a visit to the official website.
