Early Reviews For Rage Say It's Near Perfection
The reviews are starting to pour in for id Software’s newest first-person shooter, RAGE. If you were curious about whether or not the game was any good based on the many gameplay and cinematic trailers, screenshots, interviews, and ads scattered throughout the interwebs, then the reviews basically remove all doubt about id’s ability to make an FPS.
RAGE could basically fall under the category of the first big budget FPS game to usher in the encroaching bombardment of triple-A games for the holiday season. The good news is that reviews are generally favorable for the game, with Digital Trends giving RAGE a cool-as-a-cumber 9 out of 10, saying that it’s “…one of the best games of the year”.
The game features an open-world, post-apocalyptic wasteland as the setting, with plenty of mutant zombies to blast to pieces and robot sentries to out-smart. If you’re not worn-out on the lone-hero saving the world in a dystopian future then RAGE may still hold some thematic relevance for you, and according to the review the game does the whole wasteland-vibe a huge justice with impeccably detailed environments.
You can check out the entire review over at Digital Trends, or pick up your copy of RAGE from local retailers for $59.99 for the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC.
