Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable Gets Buggy On Vita This Winter
The Earth Defense Force series is all about keeping massive bug and alien threats from destroying the city. Now players will be able to link up with their buddies to enjoy the devastation as a team on the go as D3 has announced the impending winter release of Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable for the PlayStation Vita.
The year is 2017 and The Ravagers are attacking the Earth, intent on wiping out all of mankind. In retaliation, the Earth Defense Force is formed, a special group of highly trained soldiers with some pretty sweet weaponry designed for the sole purpose of taking out the alien threat.
While Earth Defense Force 2017 was originally released for the PlayStation 3 back in 2007, this enhanced portable version adds even more weapons to the 150-plus total, new missions, the flying Pale Wing character and, of course, the ability to play co-op or versus with up to three friends.
While the game is set for a U.S. release of “winter,” Japanese players have been destroying thousands of massive insects for quite a few months now. Here's a Japanese trailer for the game. You can jump to about the halfway point if you want to get straight to the pew-pew-pew kablam crash scream pew-pew EXPLOSION!
Completely remastered for the Vita, Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable is all about teamwork. As such, all new tactical options are available, as well as new weapons and gear specially designed with teamwork in mind.
Look to take the fight to the bugs Stateside sometime in the coming months.
