Earthrise Going Free-To-Play In 2012
The trend continues for most subscription-based MMOs to eventually abandon their monthly payment requirements and head into the free-to-play arena. The latest game to go free-to-play is the post-apocalyptic MMO, Earthrise.
Masthead Studios and Iceberg Interactive announced today that the independently developed MMORPG, Earthrise, will transfer from pay-to-play to free-to-play. Monthly subscriptions will end beginning December 1st, next Thursday, and following thereafter players will no longer be required to pay to play. Iceberg will continue to provide a boxed retail version of the game at a budget price in select European outlets.
