As soon as you finish installing Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, there will be a patch waiting for you. Bethesda confirmed today that they'll be releasing Patch 1.1 of the role-playing game on launch day.
"Yep. All platforms going to 1.1 by 11/11/11," said Bethesda community manager Nick Breckon on the NeoGAF forums. He declined to offer details on the patch, simply stating that notes will be released "when the time comes."
Skyrim, like previous Elder Scrolls games, allows players to roam an open-world in search of adventure. The downside to player freedom is that, well, it's more conducive to bugs. With players traveling to places whenever they want and doing quests in whatever order they choose, something's going to break eventually. Hopefully the day one patch spares gamers some of the worse bugs.
Bethesda announced on Friday that Skyrim went gold. It's set to be released this Friday worldwide.
