With Halo Wars complete and coming to stores in a couple weeks, Ensemble Studios is no more. Many of the folks from Ensemble folks are sticking together, though, and have just formed a new studio.
According to Gamasutra, Ensemble co-founder Tony Goodman and other veterans from the company have created Robot Entertainment. They've yet to announce any projects but based on their experience in real-time strategy games - from Halo Wars and the Age of Empire series - one would expect them to stick with that genre.
Back when Microsoft first revealed it was closing Ensemble in September, a leaked internal announcement mentioned that the Ensemble leadership would form a new studio that would offer support for Halo Wars as well as develop new projects (presumably new installments of Age of Empire or Halo Wars). Is Robot Entertainment that company? It seems to fit the bill but we'll see.
