Epic Games And Chair Rack Up More Than $30 Million From Infinity Blade
While $30 million is apparently chump change for some publishers, it marks a milestone for the Salt Lake City-based studio Chair and their parent company Epic Games. The massive lump sum of money has been accumulated in just under a year for their highly praised iOS franchise, Infinity Blade.
Epic Games President Dr. Michael Capps commented in the press release, saying...
The Infinity Blade franchise really is on the rise as a novella is in the works, a new coin-operated arcade cabinet is available nationwide called Infinity Blade EX and the recent release of Infinity Blade II is already making great headway on the app store, exceeding $5 million in just one month since its release.
I guess it's safe to say that this franchise is just getting started, especially considering that with the Unreal Engine powering the games it would only be a hop, skip and a jump for Epic and Chair to port over a home console or PC version of Infinity Blade, which could really take the series to new heights.
You can pick up a digital copy of Infinity Blade II right now from the app store for only $6.99. To learn more about the game or to see if your phone is compatible and up-to-date to run the game, feel free to pay a visit to the Official Infinity Blade Website.
