The Expendables 2 Game Gets Rated, Ubisoft Takes A Vow Of Silence
All right, so there have been rumors about a possible game based on upcoming super-action movie, The Expendables 2. The game was recently outed when gamers spotted an MA15+ rating on the official Australian Classification Board.
Players Attack [via Blues] managed to spot the rating, which points that the game has strong violence and that the experience may change online.
The real kicker for the ACB is that it completely and totally outs Ubisoft on the matter. That's right, Ubisoft will be developing and publishing the upcoming action game. Given that the film is set to release later this year, it's a pretty safe bet that this isn't going to be a rocking AAA title...however, this probably would have been the one time that Call of Duty scripting and Michael Bay 'Splosions would be been perfectly suitable for an action game, especially a shooter starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Stathom, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Scott Adkins (I'm not including that little Hemsworth kid because what has that punk done to deserve to be in a game like this, really?)
Anyways, I'm hoping this is either a retro throwback kind of game like the old Rambo and Ikari Warrior titles, or maybe, hopefully, it's a big, dumb action title that most of us bemoan because it's a Call of Duty ripoff. In this case, I wouldn't mind a third-person shooter with all the explosions they can cram into it, it would be like a dream game come true for fans of 1980s bad-action movies.
Player Attack suspects that it's going to be a game about Jensen and Caesar (Lundgren and Crews), and will see players engaging in some helicopter action and run-and-gun ground gaming, too.
Well, Ubisoft isn't commenting on the thing yet but it's out there now, and I would be foolish to say that I wasn't excited.
