When Microsoft shows off the next Xbox tomorrow, EA Sports will be there. The developer confirmed today that they'll be presenting a next-gen installment of FIFA at the special press event.
The teaser image posted on EA Sports' Facebook page features FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi and tells you to "See the Next Generation of FIFA" tomorrow during the Xbox 720 reveal. The same image of Messi was used to tease FIFA 14's announcement last month. Presumably this means that this next-gen title is a version of FIFA 14 rather than a separate game altogether.
FIFA 14 was previously confirmed for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It only makes sense for them to develop the game for the next Xbox and the PS4, though. Both consoles are expected to release this fall, the same launch window for FIFA 14.
EA Sports promised numerous improvements in FIFA 14. The new Pure Shot feature allows for more realistic shooting. A Skill Games mode gives veterans and newcomers a place to sharpen their skills. The Global Scouting Network will provide players with better intel on prospective players for Career mode. Presumably EA Sports will announce a special next-gen feature or two tomorrow as well.
The next-gen Xbox event is being held tomorrow afternoon in Redmond, Washington. The event, which will be streamed live on Xbox.com and Xbox Live, is kicking off at 10am PDT or 1PM EST.
