In order to use the app, you'll need an NFL.com account as well as an Xbox Live Gold membership. Internet access wouldn't hurt, either. The app can also be downloaded on Windows Phone 8.

The Xbox 360 fantasy football app is part of a wider partnership between Microsoft and the NFL. This collaboration will extend to the Xbox One when the console launches in November. Xbox One owners will be able to track all of their fantasy football stats through the next-gen console. They'll also have access to all other NFL content such as NFL Network and NFL RedZone. Thanks to the console's Snap feature, gamers will be able to watch live games while also consulting their fantasy football information. They can also talk trash via Skype or Twitter.

Microsoft's existing partnership with ESPN will also carry over to Xbox One so that gamers will have access to other sports content.

"Featuring deeper sports content personalization, ESPN on Xbox One gives you immediate access to the teams and sports you care about most. With WatchESPN, ESPN.com, and ESPN3 video content, you get the best highlights, live events and on-demand sports in full screen mode. Additionally, you will receive personalized scores and stats in Snap mode from the most popular sports."

If you still haven't set up your fantasy football team, you've still got a bit of time. The 2013 season will begin on September 5th with a night game between the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos.
