PS3 gamers will be getting some exclusive DLC for open-world shooter Far Cry 3. High Tides will add new content to the game's co-op campaign early next year.
The High Tides DLC picks up where the original co-op campaign left off. Players will once again take on the role of Leonard, Tisha, Mikhail and Callum in two new chapters entitled Jailbreak and Redemption. These are said to be the final moments of these four characters, which sounds rather foreboding.
If the gang does die, though, they'll go out with a bang. Ubisoft says that the new missions are the "best of the best." Expect tough battles and a lot of "explosive moments."
Ubisoft and Sony have a pattern of exclusive DLC agreements. The most prominent examples involved the Assassin's Creed series. For Assassin's Creed 3, PS3 gamers were given access to Benedict Arnold missions.
The announcement on PlayStation.Blog mentions that it's "exclusively on PS3 for console gamers." It seems like they might be providing some wiggle room there for an eventual PC release. The only people that definitely won't be getting it are Xbox 360 owners.
High Tides will debut in January. No price or exact release date was mentioned.
