PS3 owners never got the HD remake of Final Fantasy 7 that they were hoping for. The closest thing they'll get, it seems, is a LittleBigPlanet 2 adaptation of the RPG's campaign.
London youth Jamie Colliver is attempting to recreate the entire game from start to finish. He's posted videos of the completed levels on his YouTube channel. In the comments section for one of the videos, he mentions that the project is about 75% done.
The levels are incredibly thorough. The game features boss battles, savepoints, and (seemingly) all the dialogue from the original game. The main difference is that the LBP2 levels rely on platforming rather than party-based RPG battles for the majority of the gameplay. Colliver used the premium FF7 Costume Pack released by Square Enix to recreate the characters.
A couple sample videos of this project are below. It's not to be missed.
