
Square Enix is continuing their assault on nostalgic gamers' wallets with another retro release. A new ESRB listing indicates that Final Fantasy V is coming to PSN.
The ESRB recently rated FFV for the PS3 and PSP. More often than not, this indicates they're re-releasing the game digitally. Wouldn't be a shock, considering the game has already been confirmed for a European and Japanese PSN revival.
FFV was first released for the SNES in Japan in 1992. It didn't appear in North America until 1999, when it was ported to the PSOne. This port is likely what will be released through PSN. The PSOne version added animated opening and closing cutscenes but is pretty much the same game other than that.
The ESRB previously revealed that Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger are on their way to PSN. The PlayStation Store needs to be brought back online before any of these games can arrive, though.
