Next week BioWare will be releasing a free downloadable content pack for Mass Effect 3's multiplayer. The Resurgence Pack will expand the game's cooperative multiplayer mode.
The Resurgence Pack introduces two new co-op maps. Firebase Condor takes place on one of Palaven's moons. Firebase Hydra is an abandoned quarian colony that has been turned into a power facility.
Six unlockable characters are included in the DLC as well: Batarian Soldier, Batarian Sentinel, Krogan Battlemaster, Geth Infiltrator, Geth Engineer and Asari Justicar. If you recall, these are the same characters whose existence was leaked last month.
Rounding out the DLC is a batch of new equipment. Reward packs now contain the Striker Assault Rifle,Kishock Harpoon Gun and Geth Plasma SMG. You can also earn these consumables:
- Strength Enhancer – Applies a melee damage boost for one missions
- Targeting VI – Applies a headshot damage bonus for one mission
- Stabilization Module – Stabilizes weapons while firing and moving for one mission
- Shield Power Cells – Shortens the length of time shields take to begin recharging for one mission
The Resurgence Pack will hit Xbox Live, Origin, and the North American PSN on April 10th. The PSN in Europe will get it on the 11th.
BioWare seems intent on racking up free karma. They announced a free "Extended Cut" DLC pack for the single-player as well. Also, this weekend they're holding a bonus XP event in co-op mode.
