Gamers Petition Bungie To Bring Destiny To Wii U

All today there seems to be lots and lots of news surrounding Bungie's first-person, RPG shooter, Destiny. The hype is becoming so surreal that even Nintendo fans seem to have become affected, so much so that they've even started petitioning for Bungie to bring Destiny to the Wii U.
The petition is currently taking place over on Change.org, where some hardcore Nintendo Wii U owners are slowly but surely stepping up and stepping forward to gain attention to the cause.
The petition's quest is kept pretty simplistic, with the description reading as follows...
Release the upcoming title, Destiny, on the Wii U.The more people that are able to "hopper" on to this, shared-world shooter, the better. C'mon, my body is ready.
The support is growing steadily and quickly as more news sites and gaming communities catch wind of the petition.
It's no big surprise given that Activision has been doing a serious job of promoting the game quite a bit. Just today we had several reveals relating to the game's multiplayer modes, as well as some brand new details about the game's pre-order bonuses and special boxed copies. That's not to mention that the official beta testing dates have been set in stone, with the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 getting the Destiny beta on July 17th and the Xbox 360 and Xbox One receiving the beta just one week thereafter.
It's easy to see how both Nintendo and PC gamers are feeling kind of left out from the experience. Quite naturally, one group decided to attempt to do something about it by forming the petition.
The reality, however, is that even if the petition garners 5,000 or maybe 10,000 or maybe even 100,000 people (though that seems a bit unlikely) the game would still need time to be ported to the console if Activision and Bungie did decide to listen to the community. In reality, Wii U owners would likely receive the game six months to a year later unless they would be okay with a quick and dirty port.

Some naysayers would state that the game may not run on Nintendo's console, however that's entirely not true. Anything that can run on the PS3 and Xbox 360 is more than capable of running on the Wii U.
The main problem right now is that a lot of publishers don't see the Wii U as a viable system for porting games over to because its architecture is very unlike the current consoles on the market, and its closest counterpart would be the Xbox 360. Although, even then, despite both consoles operating on PPC technology, they're still very different beasts, which is why some port-overs from the Xbox 360 to the Wii U still run rather shoddy.
It seems unlikely at this point that the Wii U would get Destiny. Activision and Bungie have a decade long roadmap laid out for the series and it seems entirely unlikely that they would disrupt their plans for just one console. Then again, a lot of it may depend on how well the Wii U sells over the next few months and how well it'll keep selling throughout and beyond the holiday season.
