Germinator, Pinball Arcade, Loads Of Discounts Hit PlayStation Plus
It's time once again for your PlayStation Plus update, which means new games for subscribers, as well as a fresh batch of discounts on a bunch of games and even a special promotion through GameStop.
From now until June 20, anyone who buys a one-year subscription to PlayStation Plus through GameStop will automatically receive a $10 PSN card as a special bonus. You won't need to mail in a receipt or plug in numbers online and wait for it to come in the mail, either. The card will be given to you the moment you make your purchase at any GameStop store.
As for this week's new additions to the Instant Game Collection, we have an infectious puzzler for the PS Vita and a fantastic virtual pinball title that can be played on Sony's handheld, as well as the PlayStation 3.
Germinator is a new kind of gem breaking game that replaces sparkling jewels with grotesque viruses that get bigger, explode and often chain destruction if you play wisely. A touch-based puzzler, you can grab that on the PS Vita starting today. If you'd rather play a little pinball, however, then Pinball Arcade is the place for you. The core game offers four classic real world tables for both the PS3 and Vita, including Arabian Nights, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Theatre of Magic and Black Hole. If you like what you see, a boatload of new tables are currently available as DLC, all of which are also cross-buy, cross-play content.
This week's Plus update offers multiple deals, too, including a trio of discounts on the Metro: Last Light Season Pass (25 percent off), a Darkstalkers Resurrection/Super Puzzle Fighter II Bundle (30 percent off) and the new bathroom simulation game, Men's Room Mayhem (30 percent off).
Finally, the PlayStation Network is offering a new batch of 10 Ultimate Collection games, bundling titles and their DLC at a discount to all customers, and an even deeper discount for Plusers. These games include Assassin's Creed III, Batman: Arkham City, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, DmC Devil May Cry, Max Payne 3, Starhawk, Far Cry 3, Persona 4 Arena, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. The discounted bundle prices and Plus prices can be found on the PlayStation Blog.
All of the above games and savings will go live this afternoon alongside the weekly PlayStation Network update.
