Valve announced today that BioShock 2 will be available through their digital games store Steam. They're offering a couple incentives for buying it through that service.
Pre-purchasing the game on Steam will get you a 10% discount, which is about $5. You'll also get a free copy of the original BioShock, which you can "gift" to a friend if you already own. Additionally, Steam will be offering a "four pack" of BioShock 2 with the same discount and four free copies of BioShock.
If previous pre-purchase giveaways are any indication, you'll be able to download BioShock as soon as you plunk down the money for the latter. If by some freak occurrence you haven't played that game, it should serve as an adequate distraction until BioShock 2's release on February 9th.
