Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Release Date Is Set
Ubisoft sent out word that the highly anticipated Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be released this upcoming May. What's more is that Ubisoft will be running a multiplayer beta for the game in April to fix any bugs or glitches they may have missed.
One of the highlights of the news story is that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be coming to PC (Yay!). This decision was obviously reversed after many PC gamers were insulted by Ubisoft's comments late last year about how Future Soldier would not be coming to PC because of all the pirates.
The original plan was that Ghost Recon Online would be the PC version of Future Soldier and according to Ubisoft, since GRO would be free-to-play they wouldn't have to worry about losing money to pirates. So, long story short, the PC audience will receive Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
As mentioned in the first paragraph, the PS3 and Xbox 360 will receive a special multiplayer beta session for Future Soldier, allowing Ubisoft to gauge a number of facets before the game officially releases. Originally the beta was supposed to take place sometime this month, but the January multiplayer beta has been delayed to April instead.
Adrian Lacey, IP development director at Ubisoft Studios, France commented in the press release, saying...
There's no doubt that the four-player co-op from E3 last year looked especially tight during Ubisoft's live press conference demonstration. Hopefully that wasn't just some target-gameplay footage. I guess when May 25th rolls around Xbox 360, PS3 and PC owners will be able to judge it for themselves.
